digiS

The centre for research and excellence in digitisation in Berlin (digiS) connects and coordinates digitisation projects in Berlin based cultural heritage institutions, supports them with technical consulting and with the installation of services for representation and ensuring digital long-term availability. digiS wants to enable institutions to actively shape their digital practice and thus creating innovative points of access to their digital collections.

German Digital Library

The German Digital Library connects the digital collections of cultural and scientific institutions and provides convenient access to them via one single point of access. The library offers free access to digitalised works of art, books, music, monuments, films, documents and many other treasures of German cultural and scientific institutions. The German Digital Library works as a network: It links to and presents the digital services of its partners and thus contributes to the knowledge democracy and information society.

Open Knowledge Foundation Germany

The Open Knowledge Foundation Germany is a non-profit organisation foundeed in 2011 that campaigns for free and open access to knowledge in all parts of society. The projects of the organisation build the digital infrastructure for civil societal activity and supports citizens, journalists and NGOs to exercise their right to information, transparency and participation.

Wikimedia Deutschland

Wikimedia Deutschland is a non-profit organization with currently around 80,000 members. It understands equal opportunities in access to knowledge and education as a human right and is working to ensure that projects such as the free online encyclopedia Wikipedia can continue to exist in the future. As part of the Wikimedia Movement, Wikimedia Germany strives towards the vision of a world in which everyone can share, use and multiply all of humanity’s knowledge.
